Conflict in Israel and Gaza

Members of our community will have seen the deeply distressing news of the conflict currently taking place. We offer our deepest sympathies to all who have been impacted by the events in Israel and Gaza.

The University is here to support anyone who has been affected.

During this difficult time, we ask everyone to be respectful and supportive of each other. Our website is available to anyone who experiences any instances of harassment, hate speech or any form of abuse.

Student Support

International Students

We have a dedicated advisor for any International Students who can provide support and advice and co-ordinate support from other services. You can contact the International Student Support Advisor by email at [email protected].

UK Students

There is a Student Wellbeing Advisor at each 鶹ӳý campus with whom you can discuss any concerns. They are a great source of practical information, advice and guidance and can refer you on to specialist services both within the University and in the local area where relevant.

Student Journey Advisors

You can also contact your Student Journey Advisor for help and support on any matter related to your studies at 鶹ӳý. They will be able to signpost you to the relevant academic help and support.


You may have assessments coming up in the next few weeks. If you feel that you are unable to sit an upcoming assessment due to distress or anxiety you will need to submit an application for the University to take this into account.  You can find information on what to do if you can't attend your assessment in the Assessment Office Overview for students here: .

Spectrum Life Student Assistance Programme

The Student Assistance Programme (SAP) provides a confidential, in-the-moment support service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can contact them about anything, including stress, anxiety, grief, loss and much more. There is a confidential freephone helpline (UK only, chargeable from outside the UK), an online chat function through the platform or you can request a callback.

The SAP can also refer you on for up to six sessions of short-term counselling where this is appropriate.
